Plot Summary:  The Passion of The Christ is based on the last twelve hours of Jesus of Nazareth's life. Jesus goes to the Garden of Gethsemane after the Last Supper.  He struggles to resist the temptations of Satan. When he is betrayed by Judas Iscariot, Jesus is arrested and taken to Jerusalem. The Pharisees confront him with accusations of blasphemy.  He is confronted by Pontius Pilate and King Herod and sentenced to death by crucifixtion.

Plot Summary:  Marcus Aurelius is a Roman emporer who is nearing the end of his life.  He chooses Maximus, a general in the Roman army, to succeed him ignoring his own son, Commodus.  After the death of Marcus Aurelius, a power struggle and Marcus is unable to save his family from death.  He is captured and put into the Gladiator game where he fights for his life.
